Settlements Analyst - Investment Operations

About the role

Nedbank Private Wealth, a private bank and wealth manager based in the Isle of Man, is looking for a Settlements Analyst to join its Investment Operations Team on a permanent basis. The Settlements Team is responsible for settling all investment transactions for the bank's clients and its internal Treasury Department.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out trade settlement in multiple currencies across international markets
• Prepare documents and process stock transfers, including journal input and foreign exchange transactions
• Resolve multi-currency cash and stock reconciliation queries
• Take part in cross-training, user acceptance testing and ad hoc tasks assigned by the Settlements Manager
• Propose changes to improve processes and systems, and ensure errors and breaches are reported and fixed, with steps taken to prevent recurrence
• Keep procedures up to date, respond to client queries promptly and escalate where appropriate
• Stay up to date with international business policies, regulatory changes and industry developments, and assist in projects and cover other areas of the department
• Safeguard client assets by following client asset rules for all applicable jurisdictions

Required profile

• Previous experience in an investment operations role (desirable)
• Good knowledge of investment administration, technical and operational, with the ability to spot problems and propose solutions
• Experience in dealing or settlements roles is advantageous but not necessary
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or higher in Maths and English
• Holding or working towards a Level 3+ investment administration qualification, such as the CISI Investment Operations Certificate (IOC), or an equivalent
