Reconciliations Team Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and people‑focused leader to manage our Reconciliations team and ensure the effective delivery of balance sheet reconciliations across the business. This role oversees the end‑to‑end reconciliation process, maintains strong financial controls and ensures timely resolution of reconciling items.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Reconciliations team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of reconciliations.
• Oversee the full reconciliation lifecycle, including review, sign‑off, issue management and evidence retention.
• Investigate, resolve and escalate reconciling items, balance‑sheet breaks and control issues.
• Maintain robust documentation, audit trails and accounting records in line with governance requirements.
• Produce and analyse management information on reconciliation performance, risks and control exceptions.
• Build strong relationships with Finance, Operations, Risk, Compliance and other business areas.
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and responses.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
