Data Analyst (Fixed-Term Contract)

About the role

Nedbank Private Wealth, a private bank and wealth manager headquartered in the Isle of Man, is looking for several Data Analysts to join its Data Division in the Isle of Man office on a limited-term basis of at least 12 months. The role holder works with business users to understand their needs and builds statistical queries, visualisations and dashboards that give the evidence needed to solve business questions and support decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Data management and quality: set up and run data quality assurance, metadata and master data management, and data modelling; support data governance controls and business data owners; document source-to-target mappings, data flows and data definitions.
• Self-service: design and run user self-service for tactical data requests and reports, working with data analysts and business users.
• Data insights: turn stakeholder requirements into actionable insights, dashboards and reports; re-engineer manual data flows for better efficiency, working with IT to improve data capture in source systems.
• Build accessible datasets and the right data infrastructure, and develop advanced analytics capability using Python, PySpark and machine learning.
• Collaborate with data analysts, business subject matter experts and other teams, monitor workflows and project progress, and support team member development through training.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst (data-focused) or similar.
• Experience in data modelling, data cleansing and data enrichment.
• Knowledge of data governance.
• Excellent communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, good time management and a collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Advanced data visualisation and report creation with Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL queries and joins.
