Essential Banker

About the role

As an Essential Banker you will be the first point of contact for branch customers, handling day‑to‑day banking requests, queries and complaints while delivering a first‑class experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process servicing, sales and transactional activities in line with Barclays procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and grow customer relationships, promoting the full range of Barclays products and services.
• Identify opportunities to support branch targets for sales, productivity, digital uptake, quality and accuracy.
• Maintain good governance controls and ensure compliance with the Operational Risk Framework and internal policies.

Required profile

• Excellent customer‑service skills with experience in a customer‑facing role.
• Strong communication abilities and a professional approach to building relationships.
• Effective planning, organisation and decision‑making to meet performance standards.
• Ability to work within defined authority levels and follow well‑documented procedures.

• Experience supporting vulnerable customers.
• Proactive communication of ideas and recommendations for process improvements.
• Ability to use digital tools to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
