Domestic / Housekeeping Assistant

About the role

Bradda View Nursing & Residential Home is looking for a Domestic to join its team. The role keeps the home clean and tidy and ensures it meets standards in line with Infection Prevention and Control requirements under Health and Safety Regulations. It covers housekeeping, laundry and compliance duties.

Key responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly) and keep rooms, furnishings and fixtures clean and hygienic, disinfecting where necessary
• Perform emergency housekeeping, deep cleans after discharge or transfer, and keep toilets and bathrooms clean
• Remove and rehang curtains, drapes and dividers correctly, report equipment faults to the Deputy Manager/Registered Manager, and remove interior waste daily
• Maintain supplies and report when stocks need replenishing
• Clean and maintain laundry equipment and chemicals, wash and iron household linen and residents' clothing at the right temperatures, treat soiled items with thermal disinfection and PPE, and return items to the right place
• Keep clothing labelled and bring items needing replacement to the manager's attention
• Complete mandatory training, share knowledge with colleagues, and take part in team meetings, appraisals and quality assurance
• Comply with Care Inspectorate regulations, COSHH, fire procedures and risk management policies

• Understanding of fire procedures, COSHH, Infection Prevention & Control and emergency first aid
